It was pretty quiet on the blog last week. When I set up the new website I determined that I was not going to let blogging rule my life, last week was one of those where life just happened and I did not get much writing done. Though I did finish a quilt and will have pics up soon to share in A Quilter's Life as well as that promised tutorial.
My dear hubby had his first colonoscopy on Friday morning. I know, strange topic to bring up, but I just want to take a moment to encourage you not to miss this exciting opportunity to visit your local gastroenterologist. I'm not sure it's a good thing when the doc comes out after your husbands procedure and immediately recognizes you. It's old hat for me, I have been having them every 3-5 years since my 30's, ever since my younger brother was first diagnosed with colon cancer. We lost him after the cancer had spread to his liver when he was just 36 years old. Both of my parents were colon cancer survivors and my nephew had over 100 polyps removed when he was five (yes five) and had his entire colon removed when he was 9. You can't pick your gene pool. That's what we tell our sons who are due for theirs as well. I know it's not fun, but the life you may save is valuable to those around you. My turn comes in May. It is Spring Break here this week so I can tell you right now that posting is going to be erratic, if at all. I am not going to stress about it. A very good place to be as I am still trying to figure out how to manage my time with blogging and quilting and running a household and volunteering and... wishing you a bundle of blessings! Deb
