BRRRrrrrr. It is a brisk 28 degrees here this afternoon with periods of sleet, snow, and freezing rain. Just yesterday it was 78. I love winter but it sure drops in here in dramatic ways around and never stays for very long. Now is the time to remind myself how I longed for spring when we lived in Michigan where the winter weather that started in October was still going strong in March. New on the site this week: Psalm 119 continues: Reflecting God Incline My Heart -My favorite email this week said this is precisely why I started blogging as Tuning My Heart, my recognition that the change I wish to see, the growth I want, will all come from God being at work in my life and me simply yielding to Him. Give Me Life Give Me Life! I guess I liked that title this week... To life! To life! L'chai-im! I began a journey through some of the writings on Calvinism. My Reading List on the Reformation- I would love to have some other minds weigh in as I read these! On Controversy: Part 1-My opening thoughts on a letter written by John Newton that is very applicable to us today. After reading this I found a book on Amazon that contains many of John Newton's letters, apparently he was a sort of Dear Abby for Christians during his time as a minister of the Gospel. I'm hooked. This particular letter can be found for free here. On the quilting front, things continue to be slow. I have been battling a cold and just feeling a lot more tired than usual. It has felt better to just curl up under a quilt with a book to read and a hot cup of tea to sip, so that dear friends is what I have been doing. Oh, and Bailey and I also have enjoyed some snuggle time while watching Leave it to Beaver after lunch. It is so hard to say no to him when he comes and asks for snuggles. What is Happening in the Studio-I have a new helper in the studio and he even let me get some work done. Freebie Thursday-Some fun Christmas quilts to add to my ever growing list of future projects. And from around the web: 5 Things Mistaken for Evangelism- Good points to remember from Mark Dever A prayer for those battling sin- This prayer was written by Kevin Halloran and is based on The Mortification of Sin by John Owen. (One of the books on my reading list) This kiddo always makes me smile... Blessings!
