Scripture: How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. -Psalm 119:9-10, NASB 1995 Observation: -a pure life is attainable if you obey God. -The psalmist sought God with his whole heart. -It is God at work in us that can change us. We teach our children many things, but the most important thing we can give them is a love for God's word. All the self-help books in the world will be no match for the words of life found in their Bibles. The application for me is hard to miss in these verses. I too desire to keep my way pure, but I am no longer young and certainly not a man, still the same truth applies. I need to live according to God's word. If I intend to only invest half of my heart into this endeavor I will miss out on the greatest of blessings. You see, it is not just a way fo life that lie within the pages of our Bibles, God is revealed to us there. I approach each day that I pick up my Bible and read as a chance to know God more. To learn about Him so that I can be an imitator of God. (Ephesians 5:1) Just like my nephew desired to be more like his dad and so gratefully listened as he was taught how to chop wood that day, I desire to be more like my Father in heaven. What greater ambition could we possibly have? So I gratefully listen to God's word; for I long for Him, somedays even with my whole heart. Oh, how I pray that I will not wander from His ways. Grace, Peace, and Mercy,
Deb
