Scripture: Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants. If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts. The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies. I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad. -Psalm 119:89-96, ESV Observation: -God's word is firm forever -ALL things serve God -God's precepts give life Application:
Forever faithful. Forever true. That is who God is. His word does not change. His precepts continue to bring us life. God is perfect in a world that is made less than perfect by sin. So where do we put our our hope, our trust. In things of this world? All our servants of God. (Ps. 119:90) There are those who are just waiting to destroy us, destroy our reputations, if not our lives. Only God has the power to save us. He has the power to save us from death, from our "enemies", from whatever life throws at us. Everything else has an end- has a limit. Only God endures. Only His word is sure. Where will I put my hope? Where will I place my trust? In the temporary or the eternal? Where will I find my delight? In God's word or apart from it? One way leads to life the other to death. Grace, Peace, and Mercy, Deb
