I know some of you have been having a very warm January so far. This week we have had snow and it is in our forecast for the foreseable future. It may have been slow in coming but it looks like it might finally be here.
There is something delightful about sitting down with handwork by the fire and having a warm cuppa coffee too. So I have enjoyed working on my little sheep this week. I am again using my Apliquick tools to prepare them.
You can either trace the pattern onto the fabric squares or just pin them in place using a light source for the layout. You will first stitch all of the white parts onto the block and then the black heads get added last. Just like with the smaller ones we did on the main part of the quilt I found I preferred a dab of glue to hold the ears down rather than a pin.
Once they are all appliqued it is time to trim them to size.
Since I gave a quarter inch extra in the pattern pieces for the sheep bodies
I am just lining up my ruler at the corner of the sheep to trim these to size and square them up.
How nice they look all trimmed and ready for next week.
Now for the Giveaways. Yes, I actually have two this week.
The first is for your choice of 8 Magnifico threads from my overstock of Superior Threads in this line. These are all new and unopened. Retail value: $39.92 Winner will pay shipping costs which is apprx. $5.00 in the USA. (I will provide the winner with a list of available colors to choose from.)
The second Giveaway is for a bundle of 8 Fat Quarters provided by Northcott Fabric. These are from the Sew Sweet-Turquoise and Coral collection by Michelle Kliman. The winner will need to pay shipping costs.
Remember to qualify you have to actually leave me a comment on this blog post.
I do check before finalizing the winners. The rest of the rules and guidelines can be read HERE. The contest begins at Midnight tonight and ends at Midnight January 16th. Winners will be announced Friday January 17th here on the blog.

I didn't make any NY Resolutions! But I did decide I would organize my sewing room sometime in January. Still not there, because I have two quilts to finish first. One is done! It may be February. LOL

This New Year of 2020 I am using as a time for working with God for healing, so I can do things for Him, and myself! Because I want to get back in the game.

Love the sheep. I have heard of the Apliquick technique, but have not tried it yet. It sounds like it would make life easier. Thanks

My resolutions- try to use my stash (I reallylike to just look at it and save it for retirement), buy fabric only in absolute necessity, it has to be only for a small project and absolutely gorgeous.

Lol. You gave me a laugh with the comment about saving it for retirement. I am determined to work with just my stash as much as possible this year as well..
