I am making good progress on the wildflower quilt. As I mentioned in my last post Mckenna Ryan designed the quilt. She named it Petals of My Heart. Anyone who has gone hiking with me knows how much I love wildflowers. I was inspired by one of my dear aunts to learn the names of the flowers I came across out in the woods. They are like special little friends that I look forward to seeing whenever I wander along a path somewhere. They evoke memories of special places and times and sometimes provide a delightful surprise when they appear someplace unexpected.
Now on to the show...Blocks 14 and 15
As I continue to work on the blocks I continue to think about how I am going to quilt this. It is going to be a decorative quilt that I hang on a wall so I am considering just doing some background quilting rather than going around each and every tiny piece of applique like I do with my baby quilts. But then I wonder if I am doing an injustice to this lovely quilt. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
As I have been thinking about hand quilting I came across this video for a hoopless method. I am intrigued.
