I don't know how you are doing, but I for one cannot believe it is June already. I thought time would drag but it is just zipping by at light speed it seems. I know that a lot of things are going on in our country right now-truly heartbreaking things. I hope that in the midst of it all you can find some release with me as we quilt together. This month's block is called Alpha Centauri which is the third brightest star in the night sky. May we all shine as brightly in these dark times. One of the tips I have for you this month is to use a glue stick to help hold these Flying Geese points together. Since the seams do not "lock" into place it can be a little tricky to line them up well as you are sewing. One method involves some pinning you can see how I do that in an earlier blog post linked HERE where I do a photo tutorial on one of my other projects. I have also found that just a bit of glue from a watersoluble glue stick works well too. After adding a bit of glue (the little blue dabs on the above photo) simply line up the points and press them together for the glue to hold. I got really good results this way. I did have to fuss just a bit with the seam since we are pressing the seams open, but the glue easily released its hold so that was not a problem. And I made sure it was dry before pressing with my iron to avoid any sticky residue issues. And here is a photo of the second version of this quilt I am working on. For some more inspiration take a look at the blocks that my pattern testers made. I think they have made some rather stunning blocks. I so enjoy seeing everyone's version of the blocks I design. You can share yours on either of my Facebook group pages: https://www.facebook.com/tuningmyheartquilts/ my public group. Or https://www.facebook.com/groups/tuningmyheartsewalong/ my private sew along group. If you are looking for something to do in between our monthly blocks be sure and check out the link for my Passing the Days blocks. I have been making a block a day since March to mark each day we were required to stay home in our community. This project has also been a part of my goal to use fabric from my stash-or as I prefer to call it now, my collection. To get your copy of thismonth's block click on the link below:

This is a great block! I may put it in my Christmas quilt. Thanks so much for this BOM. Comments are closed.
