Just Desserts: Block 12

This is the final block in my Just Desserts BOM!  I think that happy face expresses well how I feel.  It has been a delicious adventure...and it's not quite over yet because next month we will be putting our quilts together.  Block 12 is Lemon Meringue Pie.  It brings back such special memories of my mom. 

There are a lot of similarities to last month's block  in this one that give you a chance to practice those techniques once again.  You can get your copy of the block HERE.

My pattern testers had a lot of fun with their versions too.  As you can see it was pretty popular with them.

This month's recipe is the closest I could find to the one my mom made: Classic Lemon Meringue Pie from Sally's Baking Addiction.  She provides lots of tips to tackle this somewhat picky pie.  

And here is a version which claims to be foolproof and the reviews seem to confirm it is easier to make, so here ya go: Easy Lemon Merigue Pie from Once Upon a Chef.
Now I am off to decide on fabric for my sashing and cornerstones to put my blocks together.
