Pour yourself a glass of milk and let me introduce you to this month's Block. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. Now granted these were not my favorite, as they were lacking chocolate. But how wonderful they made the house smell when mom baked up a batch, and if she allowed us to eat one while still warm.... well that was a pretty special treat. This block may look complicated, but is made with very simple piecing techniques. Get ready to make some Half-square-Triangles. They go together into so many combinations which makes them really fun to play with. You can get your copy of the pdf pattern free for a limited time by clicking the link below. Block 10: Oatmeal Raising Cookie My pattern testers did a great job with their blocks this month too and I love seeing each one's take on color choices. You may already have a favorite tried and true Oatmeal Cookie Recipe. I found one that I have printed off to try from Sommer Collier of A Spicy Perspective. I am looking forward to filling my home with this sweet smell. Oh, and browsing her site leads to lots of other sweet recipes too. I hope you enjoy some time in your own quilting space. This one rather reminds me of my grandmother and her special place in a house where she raised 8 children during the depression. As a child I spent lots of time working the treadle on her sewing machine and who knew where those early days would lead me. Happy Quilting!!
