The day turned cold on Tuesday. We went from a 70 degree Monday to a 40 degree Tuesday. Ken moved my pots inside as a hard freeze hit that night. Fall came for a brief visit to Texas but it will be in the 80's again by this weekend. The cold snap has led to some color change and that got me thinking about fall quilts. While I will not be starting any of these this year I enjoyed window shopping for more free patterns to share with you. Enjoy! Falling Leaves by Hoffman Fabrics Autumn Vines This is a pattern at freepatterns.com. They require membership to download the patterns, but that is free as well. Piecemakers is offering this one for free. Being on the lookout for applique leaves of all sorts this is a good resource. The page also has several other free patterns they are making available from their archives. Harvest Windfall by Piecemakers. I found the pattern for their 2002 Times and Seasons Calendar last year that had the patterns to make the tree quilt pictured below. I do not know if I will ever get around to making my own version of this beauty but it certainly is a treat to see. Taking it a stitch at a time,
