I have had so much fun looking for pincushion patterns to share with you.  This is just a small sampling so I think there will be another post in my future.  These would sure make cute gifts for the sewer on your list.

Hedgie Pin Cushion-this cute little pattern is by Sam Hunter of Hunter's Design Studio and is found on Janome's website.  A very thorough tutorial is included.

Another Hedgehog pattern.  When you visit the page for the  Hedgie Pincushion Pattern just click on the pattern ot enlarge it.
I then right clicked on it and saved it on my computer.

This little Mouse Pin Cushion is courtesy of All About You.  The directions are not the best, but if you have experience sewing you should be able to follow them.

I came across this adorable log cabin chicken made by Rachel Wetzler, but alas there was no pattern to go with it as she had adapted it from other patterns.  The pattern she linked to can be found HERE.  It is lacking the illustrations.
A little searching came up with the following offering.  I intend to play around with this one and hopefully come up with a tutorial of my own to share-though I cannot promise anything before Christmas.

Again, no pattern, these are simply more inspiration because I love the details added to these with embroidery thread.

Better Homes and Gardens has this Wool Pincushion.  I just may have to break down and find a source for wool.

Happy Quilting!
While this is not a pincushion what an adorable mouse made by a woman named Nadine from one of Bustle and Sew's Patterns.  I love these patterns among other things for the ability to use them to make items for sale; a unique thing in the quilt world these days.  You can access this free pattern atBustle and Sew.   She even has  a tote bag with Rudolph on it.
