I love to take a close look at things. So may tiny, hidden treasures are really there in plain sight if we just look. I am most happy surrounded by trees in forest; big old Ponderosa and Douglas Fir to name just a few. It took me a long time to find the beautiful hidden treasures that abound in other landscapes. Take the prairies for instance. They can look like just a vast empty grassland when driving by, but when you stop to look they come alive with all sorts of things. I can spend hours lost in a meadow teeming with flowers and butterflies. Today's block is called Prairie Queen.
I knew I wanted to represent grasses with a green, but I also had in mind to capture the colors of wildflowers as well. So instead of just one color for my four-square blocks I used two complimentary purples.
