Image by Jens Teichmann from Pixabay The block I chose for today is Contrary Wife. What is a little disturbing about this block is my reference book of blocks named this one Contrary Wife 1-oy, there is more than one. Maybe it is a good reminder today to keep my attitude in check as the hubs and I do life together. I am going with a pink and blue theme on this block to represent "boy meets girl." If you look carefully at this block it is identical to yesterday's. Now we will see how our fabric choices create something that looks completely new. What you will need to make this block (Finished size 6" x 6") Dark Fabric: (cut 2) 3" x 3" Medium Fabric: (cut 5) 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" Light Fabric: (cut 2) 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" Half-square Triangles are quite often a part of my quilts so I continue to provide you lots of practice, lol. We start again by making Half-square Triangles (HST's). Begin by drawing a diagonal line on the wrong side of the Light fabric squares. Lay them on top of the Dark fabric squares, right sides together. Then sew 1/4" from each side of the drawn line. Cut apart on the drawn line and press towards the dark side. Trim the HST's to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". Lay out the HST's with the Medium fabric squares. Join together into rows, pressing towards the Medium fabric squares. Join the rows together to complete the block. I pressed towards the top and bottom rows. Look how differently these two blocks came out that have the exact same pieces. I hope you have a blessed day wherever you are.
Today is actually Quilting Day, so spend some time doing what you love. Happy Quilting! Comments are closed.
