We live in an area where we have several varieties of swallows; two of my favorites are the Tree Swallow (above) and the Violet-green Swallow (below). So today I threw out my color wheel (just kidding I still have it) and chose colors that reminded me of these two beautiful birds to make today's block: Return of the Swallows. But before I get to that I need to share yesterday's block: Churn Dash. We have developed the habit of spending our Sunday afternoons enjoying the outdoors so I needed something quick and easy and Churn Dash certainly fit that bill. We are blessed to live in a rural part of Oregon which allows us to get out and enjoy creation while maintaining our social distance. The only "folks" we saw yesterday were some eagles, songbirds, a displaying Sooty Grouse, an Osprey-which caught a fish from the lake we were walking around and managed to keep it in it's grip while being chased by an eager young Bald Eagle- and a few chipmunks and squirrels. We did come across some bear tracks which was a thrill as well. So here is my Day 34-Churn Dash done with some scraps with a kitchen theme. And here is today's block 35-Return of the Swallows. This block went together pretty quickly as well since I just had to make two sets of Flying Geese. I chain-pieced them all at the same time. My Bloc-Loc ruler made quick work of trimming them to size. The only real issue comes when joining these together. I find that using a stilleto to help guide bulky seams under the needle is useful as well as slowing down when I come them. And here they are again-Day 34 and Day 35. I read a very good piece today that stated we are all in the same storm but not all in the same boat. I do not know how you are doing in your boat. I hope you are weathering the storm well. I hope that you are finding something each day that brings you joy and peace; even if only for a moment. I wish you peace and
