Little Bo Peep Sew Along-week 3

12/6/2019

Picture
This week we are putting Bo Peep together on our block.  While I love the sheep, finishing Bo Peep makes my heart sing.  There is just something about Sunbonnet Sue-my inspiration for this Bo Peep-that feels so good.  If you haven't joined my Facebook Sew Along group yet I hope you will come over for a visit and share a photo of your Little Bo Peep.  It always brings me great joy to see what you are making.
I hope you had wonderful Thanksgiving last week and a chance to get all caught up.  I think all of my technical issues have finally been resolved so hopefully we can continue on without further interruption.

I mention in part 1 that I got the idea for the pattern overlay from
Becky Goldsmith at Piece O' Cake.  This is her video of what she uses and how she uses it.

Time for another Giveaway.  This week it is an 8 spool collection of Magnifico 40 wt. 2-ply high-tenacity trilobal polyester thread by Superior Threads.  I recently finished up collecting all of the colors of Magnifico threads and through a mix up have an extra set from the last month which is good for you as I am giving it away.  Winner will need to pay shipping on this.

These are the threads I use for a lot for  machine applique.  They have a wonderful sheen and sew beautifully.  Included in this set are #'s: 2045-Brick (red), 2048-Red Riding Hood (red), 2060-Flashlight (yellow), 2098-Honeydew (green), 2102-Lime Popsicle (green), 2125-Vintage Violet, 2170-Old Lace (cream), 2176-Cinnamon Toast (brown).  The set is valued at $39.92.  Enter for your chance to win below. The Giveaway closes Dec.5 at midnight.

Debra, you are slowly converting me to thinking about trying those tools. Watching what you do is very instructive, and if I can get my hands to work together, the thin stems and things like that will be a lot easier, and not nearly as sticky! Bo Peep looks so cute on her path!

I love Superior threads, but haven't tried this variety. I'm willing to experiment, though! Those colors would be very handy for a project next year.

And my favorite color is green - almost any shade!

I really was reluctant to put out the money for them at first, but I am so glad I did, and that I stuck with figuring out how to make them work for me.

When I want a lower sheen I go with King Tut, but Magnifico has become my favorite-I use a matching Masterpiece thread in my bobbin and the combination is a dream to work with.

Thanks for the idea of the tools and overlay! I've a few RxR rows where I could use an overlay to get them done easier. And thanks for the giveaway, all of the colors look great.

I love all jewel tones, so the reds would be my favs of the set.=)

I am glad the idea will be helpful, Moira. I am with you on Jewel tones, in fact my current pieced quilt is made with jewel toned batiks.
