It has been a busy week in my little part of the world. Baby showers, quilt guild meeting, a luncheon to help with, and of course my work schedule...so Thursday Freebie is coming to you on Friday this week. Spring made a bit of an appearance this past weekend. Our pear tree blossomed in the 80 degree weather only to be covered with ice the next day. Soon, the flowers will be making their appearance in our yards so it seemed fitting to share a couple of free BOM's with you that showcase these gems in our world. Dream Garden offered by Sentimental Stitches. New blocks are posted on the 15th of the month. Forever Blooming by P3 Designs. You have to set up an account, which is free, to have access to the free BOM patterns. When the block for a new month is added the previous month is only available for purchase after that. Taking it a stitch at a time,
Deb What do we do when we are machine quilting and want to achieve 12 stitches per inch on our quilt? How does that translate onto the settings on our sewing machines. I did a search online and found a formula, but felt like there should be a chart that we could easily refer to that would help us achieve the results we desire. So I give you my Stitch Length Converter Chart. Please feel free to share the chart.
Taking it a stitch at a time, Deb I have been in secret mode lately in order to keep these two quilts a surprise. We had the baby shower last weekend for my niece who is expecting her first baby soon. The second quilt is for another grand nephew who was born a few months ago. It is such a joy for me to be able to share my love of quilting in this way. This weekend the tradition will continue as I join one of my nieces and her oldest daughter at the Dallas Quilt Show. I am excited about the variety of exhibits that will be a part of this show from Quilting During the War Years : a collection of WWl through WWll quilts to modern art quilts. Something for everybody. Now back to the baby quilts. I thoroughly enjoyed the way my design wall brightened up the studio while the baby quilts were there. I used a nifty new ruler to make the pinwheel blocks in this quilt. Later I plan to share a tutorial to introduce you to it. Now that those quilts are in their new homes it is time to start on another...boys seems to be in the air right now, so off to pick out some more fabric as my blue stash is looking rather thin.
